Matthew’s House
Matthew’s House is a place of hospitality and hope for all, doing their best to make sure no-body is forgotten, especially the vulnerably housed and those who need them the most.
With an aim to have the feel of home where hospitality is experienced by all who enter the doors, regardless of background, belief, or circumstance.
Matt’s Café has one objective – to intercept food waste destined for land fill and use it to feed people who need it, on a pay as you feel basis.
Matthew’s House has recently celebrated their 9th birthday, a real milestone for a project that has continued to grow, with over 173 volunteers & over 116,977 volunteer hours donated.

Help make a difference
There are countless ways you can get involved and support Matthew’s House. As an individual, you can volunteer your time, set up a monthly donation, or even organise a collection at your workplace for some of the most requested items for the café.
As a business, you can contribute your skills or time, participate in corporate sponsorships for events such as the Big Sleep Out, or rally your colleagues to fundraise through events such as a workplace bake sale.

BVL have supported Matthew’s House for years and have become far more than a contractor to us. From emergency repairs and servicing to installing new equipment and ensuring our compliance, they have kept our busy community café running safely day after day.
Barrie is always there when something breaks, often found under units fixing another crisis with calm confidence and care.
Their support has helped us focus on people rather than panic about equipment and we are incredibly grateful.
