BVL Catering Repairs has been created by two people who really understand commercial kitchens.
We are Barrie and Jo Vincent-Lewis and have spent our whole career working within the catering industry, with Barrie repairing catering equipment and Jo managing restaurants we really understand the importance of an operational commercial kitchen.
Since launching the business during lockdown in 2020, BVL Catering Repairs has grown from providing annual gas safety certificates for mobile catering businesses to working alongside some of the most recognised organisations and corporate businesses across South Wales.
We pride ourselves on building long term relationships with our clients. Our approach is simple: to provide a professional, reliable service that ensures your commercial kitchen is operating safely.
About Barrie
Barrie has spent his whole working life around commercial kitchens, originally as an electrical catering engineer and now running BVL Catering Repairs.
He is a qualified electrician and gas engineer, holding the recognised qualifications to work on Natural Gas, LPG and mobile catering equipment.
25 years on, we are still committed to investing in additional qualifications to ensure we are always up to date with the latest regulations and industry standards.
More recently, Barrie has undertaken his F-Gas training to work on commercial refrigeration – proving you are never too old to keep learning.
Barrie is a familiar face across South Wales, well known by the facilities companies, catering managers and business owners he has worked with over the years.
He would rather diagnose the fault properly and repair your appliance rather than talk you into buying something new. This has influenced the company values – BVL will always prioritise over a repair over a replacement.
About Jo
Jo started out waiting tables in a local restaurant while still in school, fell in love with the hospitality industry and never really left.
With her background and knowledge in branded restaurants and facilities management, Jo understands the urgency required when your commercial kitchen equipment is not working correctly.
This previous experience has shaped how BVL operates today, with a firm focus on response times and client communication. Jo is responsible for the day to day running of BVL – from client calls, quotes and scheduling, alongside new contract mobilisation and the compliance side of the business to include servicing records and gas certificates.
She is also one of the most organised people you will ever meet, which explains the comprehensive and speedy paperwork!

Matthew's House
From the very beginning, Barrie and Jo understood the importance of supporting the local community and have been working alongside Matthew’s House since January 2021.
As a corporate friend, BVL Catering Repairs donate their time and skills to ensure the catering equipment within Matt’s Café is safe and operational.
We are proud to support this inspiring project, which provides hospitality and hope in the heart of Swansea.
